What's Covered

The following are covered under warranty across all our battery products, subject to product-specific time periods listed above.

Cell & Capacity Performance

Battery cells are covered against premature capacity loss and cell failure under normal usage conditions. Coverage includes:

  • Abnormal capacity degradation beyond expected curves
  • Individual cell failure or imbalance
  • Manufacturing defects in cells or assembly

Battery Management System (BMS)

The factory-installed BMS is covered against firmware faults, communication errors, and protection circuit failures during the warranty period.

Service & Diagnostics

Free technical diagnostics, cell balancing, and BMS service are included during the service warranty period for all eligible products.

Water & Splash Resistance

EV bike and select battery enclosures are engineered to be water and splash resistant for daily use in light rain. Note: they are not waterproof — see exclusions for damage caused by immersion.

Warranty Exclusions

The following situations are not covered under any warranty period. These exclusions apply across all battery product categories.

Water Immersion Damage

Warranty is void in case of damage caused by water immersion, flooding, high-pressure washing, or prolonged submersion. Splash resistance does not equal waterproofing.

Physical Damage & Impact

Warranty is void if the battery shows signs of physical damage, including:

  • Dents, deformation, or crushing of the casing
  • Cracks, fractures, or punctures of the enclosure
  • Damage from drops, falls, accidents, or collisions
  • Internal damage caused by external impact

Unauthorized Charger Use

The battery must only be charged using the charger supplied or approved by Hybrid EV Engineering. Use of any third-party, modified, or unapproved charger immediately voids the warranty — even if no visible damage has occurred.

Modified Factory Settings

Batteries are delivered with factory-configured BMS settings, voltage, and current parameters optimized for safety. The following void warranty:

  • Tampering with or reprogramming the BMS
  • Changing voltage, current, or temperature thresholds
  • Opening the casing or breaking factory seals
  • Unauthorized cell replacement or rewiring

Electronic Accessories

Warranty does not cover external electronic components or accessories, including:

  • Charger units and charging adapters
  • Display panels and digital meters
  • External wiring harnesses and connectors
  • Inverters, controllers, throttles, and motor accessories

Improper Use & Installation

Damage caused by improper installation, use beyond rated specifications, exposure to extreme temperatures, short-circuiting, or use in unintended applications is not covered.
